Date:  This event took place on April 17th 2023
Ticket cost: £20.00 per person*

*We encourage attendees to also book for the pitch presentation evening, including dinner (additional cost £47.50) to maximise the value of the workshop. The pitch event follows the workshop, beginning at 5.30pm.

Seasoned investor and Chairman of Dorset Business Angels (DBA) Don McQueen, leads this 2-hour workshop for new and existing angel investors who wish to learn more about the angel investing process.

There is plenty of time built into the programme for questions and answers from participants. We aim to provide a fully interactive and engaging workshop where we will share real-life experiences (the good the bad and the ugly), talk about Due Diligence and what happens when it comes to an ongoing relationship with the entrepreneur.

The workshop will be supported by our sponsors Ellis Jones Solicitors who will give some advice about legal considerations and Saffery Champness who will explain EIS and SEIS. Investec will join the Q&A panel.

The Workshop Objective

The speakers will define a straightforward process for angel investors to follow when considering investing in start-ups and in growth companies.

Workshop Outline:

  • How to search for investment opportunities
  • Our approach to Due Diligence
  • Guiding principles of Due Diligence
