Dorset Business Angels host event to educate, inform and attract new investors

Become an Angel Investor

Dorset Business Angels (DBA) are hosting an event to educate, inform and attract new investors to the possibilities and opportunities of Angel investment. The event is taking place on 10th March at the Hallmark Hotel, Bournemouth Carlton.

A lead Dorset Business Angel investor Max Wright advised, “We are hoping to attract individuals who might not have been involved in entrepreneurial investments before but who are keen to learn more about the considerable local investor opportunities that arise within Dorset and beyond. We would also to be keen to welcome seasoned investors to come along and meet other members.”

“The event will include brief talks from our sponsors: a presentation from Ellis Jones Solicitors around the legalities of Angel investment, Saffery Champness Chartered Accounts will present on the considerable SEIS & EIS tax benefits of Angel investment and finally Investec Wealth will discuss how to maximise your investment.”

“I will also be talking personally about my own experiences over the years as a Dorset Business Angel. My involvement in DBA has been an incredibly enjoyable experience and I’ve made some extremely interesting and profitable investments over the years, as well as some that haven’t worked out! I’ve particularly enjoyed working with the other DBA members. Amongst us we have a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds.”

Anyone interested in attending the investor event is urged to book online. Starting at 10am, with networking and refreshments, presentations will follow, culminating with a buffet lunch at 12.30pm. Tickets can be purchase through the Eventbrite page.

Our Pitch Events

There are four pitch events per year, held in February, April, June and October. Usually hosted at the Bournemouth Carlton Hotel or virtually via Zoom.

At each pitch event there will be 5 business presentation pitches of 10-15 minutes, to suit all investor appetites. These will be selected by the Dorset Business Angels directors nearer to the event. Short summaries will be posted to our Events page and distributed via our newsletter ahead of the event. Each pitch includes a Q&A session and is followed by a investor debate, held privately.

These pitches and our other social events are ideal opportunities for networking and learning about what is new and trending in a variety of industries. If you would like to be involved you can find out more on our Investors Membership page.

Our Next Pitch Event

Registration to our next event on April 26th 2021 is via our Eventbrite page.
